Vanessa Vine says: How and when did our governance become so - TopicsExpress

Vanessa Vine says: How and when did our governance become so lethally farcical? This man has this evening announced that there have been British air strikes on Iraq. When he was recently masquerading as Energy Minister, he lied to the British people about the dangers of fracking and joked about seeing how we like it when our rectory walls start shaking and when we have flaring at the end of our drive - flaring of methane and particulates that is causing major ill health elsewhere. This was the conversation we had on Radio 2 on 23rd May, when I reminded him of his reprehensible behaviour and called him on more of it: https://youtube/watch?v=sfpbO9Gb8f8 He is now Minister for War and I feel sickened. When a member of the Conservative party invited me to a Parliamentary Diners Club event a few months back, at which Fallon was to be the after dinner speaker about fracking, his secretary told her that I was not welcome to attend - that it was not the appropriate forum for Vanessa Vine to air her views. Why? Because I would have made it politely yet abundantly clear to the wealthy Tory dinner guests, that he was not telling them the truth about the unconventional fossil fuel industry. We are living a very dark farce. https://facebook/britainandirelandfrackfree/photos/a.450730781619619.127432.412063865486311/924847410874618/?type=1&theater Just a few short weeks ago in the House of Commons, when Michael Fallon was the Energy Minister, he stated that fracking has never caused water contamination in the USA. Will he now publicly retract that statement? The Pennsylvania state’s watchdog has concluded that the regulators were unprepared for the fracking-fueled boom in natural gas production during the past decade, putting drinking water supplies at risk, it failed to order drillers to clean or replace tainted water supplies, or to act quickly on residents’ complaints of contamination. It also established 209 cases in which homeowners’ water supplies were contaminated from nearby wells. bloomberg/news/2014-07-22/pennsylvania-regulator-faulted-for-lax-role-in-fracking.html bbc.co.uk/democracylive/house-of-commons-27920519 BIFF !
