Vedanta Foundation had organized a workshop on women’s safety that demonstrated self protection measures for combating atrocities against women faced in schools, colleges, work etc at their Post Graduates Girls College at Ringus, Rajasthan in association with Solian Martial Arts Association. A three-day-training program was conducted where 650 girls were taught Self-defense techniques without the need for formal martial arts training by using simple and effective methods of safeguarding oneself by using immediately available tools like dupatta, watch, glasses, bangles, bricks, keys, chain, buckle, pen, etc. Through the workshops we endeavor to boost the path of awareness, assertiveness, verbal confrontation skills, safety strategies and physical techniques that enables one to successfully prevent, escape, resist & survive violent assaults or dangerous situations. The Foundation also has previously organized a similar kind of workshop at Vedanta College of Management and Information technology based in India’s financial capital Mumbai where over 250 girls benefited from this training.
