Vegan/Organic friends, I am wondering how we justify the importation of all the specialty foods used to supplement the organic/vegan life? Do you buy only in season, local food? If not where is the food grown and how much displacement/habitat is lost? Can I be a vegan/organic consumer on my own land? This is not an attack just a question please! I have been looking at the alternate recipes for vegan foods and noticed the ingredients include a lot of exotics (imports). Just the fuel used to import is tremendous if it is from Asia/S. America or other destinations. Clearing of rain forests and other habitats is the largest contributor to extinction of animals today. Thoughts please, Not Attacks thank you.
