Veganism is the only way. Via~Charles F. I am profoundly disappointed with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine for having produced such an irresponsible television commercial titled Consequences, which sends the wrong message, Tonight, Make It Vegetarian, to millions of viewers: https://youtube/watch?v=zUxIXQza-dM The message should be Tonight, Make It Vegan, and Im going to contact PCRM, and Neal Barnard, M.D., who has my deep admiration and respect, to share my thoughts about this matter. The television commercial depicts a dying or deceased man, middle-aged, holding a McDonalds hamburger in his right hand and clearly takes aim at the fast-food restaurant from a health stand-point, not an ethical one, implying that eating McDonalds hamburgers causes high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and heart attacks, while showing the McDonalds golden arches logo and replacing the companys Im lovin it catch-phrase with i was lovin it. The fact is, dairy (cheese, cream, ice cream, milk, shakes, yogurt), eggs (Egg McMuffins), and fish (Filet of Fish), are all sold at McDonalds and are considered vegetarian products by many people. Not only is consumption of these products unethical, because of the cruelty inflicted on animals in the dairy, egg and fishing industries, but it is also unsustainable for the environment, and unhealthful for humans. After digging further, I discovered that this thirty-eight second commercial, which not only sends the wrong message, but also has very bad acting, was produced four years ago, so I doubt its being broadcast any more. Nonetheless, I provide financial support to PCRM through my employers monthly giving program, because I thought the non-profit organization promotes a plant-based diet and vegan lifestyle only. Many people consider cheese, eggs, milk, and even fish, to be vegetarian products, which makes no sense, because cheese, eggs, and milk are animal secretions, and fish are living, breathing, sentient beings. Terms such as lacto-ovo (cheese/dairy/milk-egg) and pescatarian (fish) are used by people who call themselves vegetarian. Ovo-lacto vegetarianism: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ovo-lacto_vegetarianism Pescatarianism: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pescetarianism Such people believe that their consumption of dairy, eggs, and fish, does less harm to animals than the consumption of meat (the flesh of animals), which is categorically untrue. In addition, eating fish is consuming the flesh, or meat, of an animal, so theres a real disconnect. Cheese, eggs, and milk are secretions that have been extracted from abused, enslaved, incarcerated, and raped animals. Their bodily fluids and products are taken from them against their will, by force, and they are slaughtered when their productivity declines, at a much younger age than their natural lifespans. In dietary terms, it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived partly or wholly from animals. theveganlightbulb.blogspot/…/veganism-definition… I am flabbergasted that PCRM has promoted a vegetarian diet to the public, in the form of a television commercial, and I do not approve of my financial contributions being used in this way.
