Velasco: I congratulate this victory to the Iranians The head coach of Iran’s national team of volleyball after the second victory over Cuba stated: The Cuban players are very young and inexperienced. This is the only thing that I can say about Cuba. We have analyzed their plays and spotted their weak points. Anyway, this is just a play. We are here to gain more experience. We made some mistakes that allowed Cuba to take the opening set, but later we troubled them with our serves. We had problems counterattacking, but the blocks worked out well. The victory was very important for us Iran’s federation is really supportive. Volleyball is a highly-valued sport by the Iranians. They have a very good league in which the conditions are all set for the players to enter to the higher levels. This is our first appearance in the prestigious world league. I am working with a young team in Iran that is why experience and learning from these matches are of the first priority for me. We have to play more and more to reach an ideal level. There is still a long way to travel through. I am sure of my team’s presence in the next year world league. I congratulate this victory to the Iranians; it is worthwhile since we have won a strong team. We had so many tough plays that are the sign of good experiences. My players have learnt so much so far. This is very important for me. We have to repeat these victories once more against Germany. I hope we can win Germany at home in Tehran to end up the preliminary round of the world league happily.
