Very amusing watching Top Chef Spain and Chile episodes - in each they have some people competing (or did until one got eliminated) who the judges and other contestants keep referring to in one way or another as the old person, too old to be working, should have retired by now, and similar phrases. All of them fall between 50-54 years old. Im 56 and have no plans to retire for a good, long time. This whole cooking is a young mans game is just nonsense. (Wonder if theyd make the same comments to people like Ferran Adrià, Alain Ducasse, Daniel Boulud, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Tom Colicchio, Thomas Keller, Joan Roca i Fontané, Mario Batali - all of whom fall in the same age range.
