Very sad read - again another article that is about disempowering aboriginal people and coming from a patronising point of treating others.. You cannot use a bandaid approach to fix a massive wound.. I understand that so many still dont get that 238 years of displacement/theft of lands/hunting rights/ceremony/ murder/rape/stolen generation, intervention and cultural genocide cannot be fixed with a card or any other quick fix solution.. Aboriginal people are not the problem.. It is a system that that is designed by those that are primarily motivated by power and profit and like mould on bread consumes everything in its path till there is nothing left.. There is absolutely no sustainability on any level - emotionally mentally physically or spirituality within this economically based and driven society.. No care and no room for individuality or acceptance of difference.. This current day society/system does not see the value of the culture that existed in this country for over 2000 generations with the fist nations people - and that is what is wrong and it cannot be undone with a card or dictating how another should live.. Poverty and hopelessness isnt so because they are lazy and dont give a shit.. This is so because they are a walking dead living in a country that doesnt truly care for them and a treaty that allows them to live the way they want to.. Just as a man cannot understand the physical, emotional and mental aspects of being a woman and tell them how they should live - a white skinned person cannot tell a black skinned person how they should live.. World apart.. Needs to be complete reciprocal respect not control and dominance..
