Yep, for the first time in a long, long time we have very rough seas as we make our way to Victoria, BC, Canada. It is most unusual to have seas like this on our Alaska run and the pools have been emptied and we have a some paper bags around the lounges and bars should anyone feel the urge to decorate promenade with some diced carrot. Seriously though, it is the older people I feel sorry for when the ship moves like this, people with walking challenges, it must be very uncomfortable for them. It’s 8:30am here and at 9:30am I will make a quick announcement just to let everyone know to be careful using the stairs and to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for breakfast………………it’s the only thing that tastes the same coming up as it does going down. And that is surely the oldest joke in the CD manual. Remember the lady who commented about the fact that we did not have those free rain ponchos and all her clothing got wet in the rain during a Carnival excursion? Well she had demanded that we wash the clothes that got wet and so to exceed her expectations as we always try to do here at Carnival we offered to launder the clothes she was wearing and that of her husband. I saw the Guest Services Supervisor last night and she told me she had sent 3 bags of laundry…………..obviously not just what she was wearing on the excursion……………..everything they had brought with them, a whole cruise worth of laundry. Sometimes………….you have to laugh, you really do. OK, busy day for me here that includes the Marriage Show and a meeting with the production team. I shall also have to have a think about the Ticket to Ride Show tonight which unless the seas subside we will have to postpone. Still, let’s not worry about that for now.
