Moms and Dads and compassionate communities are Mad in America too and we are not going to allow lies and myths to continue to prevent a right to treatment for those who suffer with psychotic disorders. Dr. Daniel Fisher and gang are promoting fantasy and ignoring the FACTS. Too many patients, including my son, have been forced into a cell after being forced into locked facilities after being forced into a seclusion and restraint rooms after being forced to the ground after being after being forced to have an injection. Too many who suffer with serious mental illnesses are forced to eat out dumpsters, forced to live in poverty, forced to choose between eating and medications. Too many are forced to leave emergency care because there are no beds. Too many are forced to kill themselves to relieve the suffering. And some are forced to commit violence or become a victim of violence because adequate medical treatment and assisted outpatient treatment was not provided. This is happening every day in jails, prisons, state hospitals and communities across the land but Dr. Fisher and gang are silent. They only rise up to ensure that forced care will continue for those who are too sick to accept treatment without assistance. Mad in America and many mental health advocates promote forced care and refuse to speak the truth about AOT which will reduce forced care. Stop the madness in America by getting the Facts straight. We are still living in the Dark Ages and de-institutionalization is a myth. Support HR 3717 and Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014, H.R. 4302 .
