Via Voice of the Martyrs Algeria: The country still suffers occasional outbreaks of violence led by the fundamentalist armed Islamic group, which waged war with the country’s military regime from 1991 to 2002. VoM contacts report that Muslim-background believers number about 200,000. these believers face threats and intimidation from family, friends, employers, Muslim extremists and the government. in 2012, VoM provided nine sewing machines to Algerian families serving as missionaries in different villages and cities. the sewing machines can be used as a source of income while they continue their evangelistic work.
