Vicki here...Just got home. This has been one long day and Im physically and emotionally exhausted, as are Matt, Dr. Pittman, and the surgical team! But God has given us strength and carries us through! Mark is pretty much still out of it after his 7 hour surgery, but resting OK with his pain IV. I look down at him lying in that hospital bed with tubes, oxygen mask, IVs, compression machine squeezing his legs, tape residue still all over him from the surgery...take hold of his cold hand and whisper in his ear I love you. He mustered a weak smile, gently squeezed my hand back, and a small tear ran down his cheek. And I realize again just HOW MUCH I love this man and am so blessed by his life! Thank you Jesus for hearing all of our prayers and orchestrating this entire day...even as quick decisions and change of plans had to suddenly be made by the surgeon and team...the very thing Dr. Pittman had prayed with us about just before surgery! Marks not out of the woods yet and the next week is very critical, so we thank you for continued prayers dear friends! We will update you more when I am less tired and have talked more with the doctors. But right now, we just want to give God all the glory and honor and praise due Him!
