Victor Juan De Dios Gonzalez has been a member of our community for many years and is a fourth generation resident of Zapata County. Victor graduated from Zapata High School in 1993 and moved back to his home in Uribeno three miles north of town with his wife and two children after earning his degree and gaining experience in his field of study. Victor has been active in contributing his knowledge and experience to the community through several self initiated projects and working with local businesses and organizations as well. He has developed a community website which publicizes our community and calls upon community members to share and be engaged through free online tools for posting public comments, advertising, and sharing events. He has also presented various projects to commissioner’s court over the years ranging from residential subdivision plats for approval to presenting concepts for innovation and improvement. Victor’s professional background is broad beginning with acquiring several years of experience in the fields of Civil Engineering and Land Surveying from working as a CAD drafting technician to managing million dollar land development projects and being assigned to inspect work on multimillion dollar construction projects. More recently, Victor has matured as an entrepreneur utilizing his expertise in Geographic Information Systems, and web and software development to innovate marketing strategies for local businesses and disseminate valuable information to the public. He hopes to better the community utilizing data to drive the decision making process in local government and plans to further his involvement in the community by listening to community members and taking action in a positive direction. Victor and his family have embraced this community and look forward to being a part of its prosperous future.
