(Video) [9/15/2014] I Knew That God Would Help Me’: Sudanese Mom Jailed for Christian Faith Speaks Out... The Sudanese woman sentenced to death for her Christian faith was on “The Kelly File” for her first-ever interview. Mariam Ibraheem was accused of converting from Islam to Christianity, although Ibraheem maintains she was never a Muslim. She married a Catholic man with U.S. citizenship, but in Sudan, Muslim women are not allowed to marry non-Muslims. After spending six months in jail with her two children – one of whom she gave birth to while imprisoned – she was freed. Today, the Ibraheem family lives in New Hampshire. Ibraheem told Megyn Kelly that she trusted in God, saying that her faith was the only weapon she had. “I knew that God would help me, that God knew I was a victim of injustice,” she said through a translator. I put my life at risk for the women of Sudan,” she said, explaining that they are persecuted and treated very harshly. The Ibraheem family is now living in New Hampshire. Ibraheem said she would like to help women and children in Sudan and Africa, and to promote freedom of religion.
