Videocon A55HD Android smartphone launched in India for Rs 13,400 (USD 250) Videocon Mobiles has launched a new smartphone named A55HD which as the name suggests comes with a high definition display offering 720p resolution. The phone is priced for Rs 13,499. Features-wise, the A55HD offers a 5-inch OGS capacitive display offering 1280×720 pixels resolution, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus which can take up to 40 continuous shots on burst mode, and a 3.2-megapixel camera on front. It offers 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card. Other features include a 2000mAh battery, wireless connectivity support for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS/A-GPS. The Videocon A55HD also comes with the in house app store named as V-Store, which ports Android apps from the Play Store. It runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1. In the already flooded affordable smartphone market, the Videocon A55HD will be competing against the likes of Lava Iris 504Q launched recently, Micromax Canvas 2 HD and others.
