Viewer advice needed for another victim of the family court, Nearly 3 years ago I had shared care of my kids. I had had this for 5 years. My daughter and I had our first argument over some short shorts her mum had bought her. I felt they were inappropriate for a then 13 year old. It was the morning they were heading to there mums house. The next week I spoke to them on the Wednesday night everything was fine. My son excited about joining rugby again. ( after a 2 year hiatus by his mother). My daughter and I discussed the argument, things seemed normal. I went to pick my son up from school Friday and got a text from the kids mum saying I wasnt getting the kids. This was 315pm. After a few texts back and forth I raced to my lawyers. Nothing could be done until Monday. It eventually came out late on Friday that she had been to CYPS and the police. I didnt see my kids for 90 days as allegations of hitting my kids and drug taking were being laid against me in the family court. Now heres the thing my lawyer has been the same person for 11 years. My ex has been through 7 lawyers. I always kept winning up until this time. The police never charged me with hitting the kids for lack of evidence. I admit I used to give them an opened hand smack on the bum when they misbehaved. CYPS on the other hand bungled everything up. To the point of stupidity. In one of there statements they said there was evidence the ex was telling the kids what to say. Yet nobody cared. So I now have a protection order against me stopping my kids from talking to me. I ended up leaving NZ because I didnt want to do anything stupid. My son made contact with me and we were talking for ages about a year ago then the ex found out and put a stop to that. Making his life hell and filling him with lies. Now I havent spoken to them for months and am a broken man. My kids are older 15/16 and 11 years fighting I just couldnt do it any more Is there anything I can do?
