Villainy loves company. Last year, former Secretary of State - TopicsExpress

Villainy loves company. Last year, former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton began the U.S. fight against international poaching, starting with a report on the negative effects of poaching on American security. As it turns out, a sizeable portion of wealth generated from poaching goes to terrorist groups, such as Al Shabab and the Lord’s Resistance Army. The unreleased report was finished this summer. In response, President Obama has issued a task force dedicated to building an anti-poaching strategy and has pledged $10 million to aid African countries in stopping the illegal wildlife trade. While these are laudable contributions, the U.S. has a far greater part to play. Everyone does. The impetus is there: the security of nations has been jeopardized, and graver still, whole species are at stake. The time is ripe-fight the good fight!
