Vincular update on the New FAQ released by DeitY: * Thin Clients, all-in-one computers, workstations and thin clients cannot be treated as Personal Computers so they are not exempted from CRS. * Media Player HDD are considered as ADP hence covered under CRS. * External HDD and DVD etc. are not covered under CRS. * NAS storage devices are considered as ADP hence covered under CRS. * LCD, LED, DLP Projecttors are covered under CRS as ADP machines. * Most of the TELCOM and WIRELESS devices are NOT covered under CRS. * HSE is not covered under CRS. * CPU is no more part of criteria to form a series for Lap Top/Notebook/tablet. * Future models may be considered to be included in the existing series of a product. * Goods imported for demonstration, R&D or testing in limited quantities with a declaration from the manufacturer will be allowed. * No music/entertainment system with input power less that 200W is covered under CRS. * The Compulsory Registration order applies to finished goods and not the spare parts, CKD or SKD units, and stripped down warranty replacement units.
