Vinyl has been the only physical media sales numbers to increase the last few years. This is a fact. But why buy vinyl? Analog storage provides more accurate reproduction than digital storage would be the common answer. Better dynamic range would be another flown flag. The non engineer, consumer would site warmth. As engineers we all have a basic idea that warmth is just distortion and non liner compression caused by the tape, and circuitry and can be duplicated with a little effort with stock plug ins on every major DAW.
