Violent behaviour of president of Georgia whose countys policy has always been aggressive assimilation of minorities. In Armenian case it is blasting Armenian churches, announcing Armenian churches to be Georgian, closing Armenian classes, forbidding any delivery of any Armenian book into Javakhk, taking Bible at customs if it is in Armenian, framing political activists such as Chakhalyan,etc.etc.etc. And that is all happening in Javakhk, historical Armenian region incorporated into Georgia by Stalin who was Georgian. For the first time Javakhk is recorded in Armenian Vanic (Ararat, Urartu) inscriptions as part of Armenian Kingdom in the form of Zabakha which later transferred into Javakhk. Georgians call it from Armenian word adding Georgian suffix - Javakheti. it is also mentioned in 11 century Georgian Chronicles as a land inhabited by the Armenians. Vahagn Chakhalyan: The provocation was Saakashvilis aim Saakashvili knew that we would meet him with the protest action at the church and that is why Georgian President decided not to come there. Then he changed his mind and arrived late. It was obvious that the provocation was his aim. He wanted us to beat or offend him. But we, of course, couldnt make such a present for him. Political activist in Javakhk Vahagn Chakhalyan said about this to Times.am reporter while commenting on the events which took place yesterday in Akhalqalaq. Our protest aimed not let him enter Armenian church as they have antagonistic policy towards Armenian churches. And it is obvious that the Armenian church in Tbilisi is still in ruins just because of that policy. Chakhalyan also underlined that the short version of their conversation was spread in the Internet. We spoke for nearly 20 minutes. I told him that he had taked 4.5 years of my life. My son has grown up without a father and I wanted to understand why all those took place. He told me to learn Georgian instead. I spoke about Tumanyan, Teryan, cultural values with him, and he answered me with abuses telling me that I was a separatist and criminal. I asked him not to insult me. But he continued his behaviour. He invited me to duel and then continued to offend me and the protest action participants when he was defended by police. I am sorry that the whole video of the incident didnt exist. But there were many journalists and I hope that the public will see soon how Saakashvili behaved himself. Vahagn Chakhalyan also underlined that he was going to make Saakashvili to carry responsibility for offending him. “What was happening here on your behalf it should be a matter of accountability in line with the law; whether it was done on your behalf or you gave an order, I do not know; the law, the court has to decide it,” Chakhalyan said, but the context what he was meaning was unclear from the available video footage of the conversation. Saakashvili interrupted Chakhalyan and responded angrily: “Are you the one who should put me on the trial?..
