Not in entire forgetfulness, And not in utter nakedness, But trailing clouds of glory do we come From God, who is our home: Heaven lies about us in our infancy! We may visit churchs, shrines and places marked as sacred shrines all the while not realizing that we, inhabiting our physical bodies, are whole and holy, part of the galaxy, the cosmos. Consider yourself a sacred site, your body a temple. Our bodies contain the elements of the stars, the energy of all the elements, even fire in our metabolic processes. Astronomer Neil deGrasse Tyson has said, We are in the universe and the universe is in us. Recognize that the very molecules that make up your body, the atoms that construct the molecules, are traceable to the crucibles that were once the center of high mass stars that exploded their chemically rich guts into the galaxy, enriching pristine gas clouds with the chemistry of life. Our Sun, the Logos of our galaxy, is the heart of a yet greater cosmic Logos. Our Earth Mother is a great Logos as well. How can we possibly be less than our heritage? Like the expanding universe whirling through space we are also eternally in the process of expansion. Whether conscious of it or not each human on Earth is here to discover their purpose and fulfill a destiny. Our journey of garnering consciousness on Earth begins on the zodiacal wheel in fiery Aries, ending after many cyles of experience in watery Pisces. The emerging Aries says I Am, I Act to Become, the maturing Aries says Now I seek Myself. In the process of growth around the wheel, Pisces says I believe in Myself, the maturing Pisces says Having found Myself, I commit to Serve. On the journey Pisces meets its opposing sign Virgo and Virgo says Let matter rule, the maturing Virgo finds I discriminate and in that I serve. At the latter points the personality is becoming aware of its soul and destiny. As a feminine sign in the element of earth, Virgo is magnetic and pulls to Herself the water of Pisces. Fertilized by Pisces discovery that Self is to Serve, earthy Virgo now realizes I am the mother and the child. I, God, matter am. Having recognized Her conception Virgos energy turns inward to analyze embryonic needs. Cosmic Memory/Mirror The human fetus develops by a process of remembering and imitation of the shapes of fish, amphibians and mammals. Deepak Chopra wrote that quantum discoveries enable us to go into our very atoms and remember the early universe itself. We are eternally in the process of discovery and becoming. Our experience and Virgos depends on the lens through which it is viewed. The quality of light by which we scrutinize our lives has direct bearing upon the product which we live, and upon the changes which we hope to bring through those lives said poet Andre Lorde. Speaking of the need to have a sense of ones own luminous center, dear friend and poet, Tania Pryputniewicz, wrote that ...I had this recognition about how much we need to first draw in and bask in the heat of the sun in order to go in and mine the lunar truths...so we can get to the star existences and step the energy down.... Alert, patient, persistent, analytic, ruled by Mercury, the planet Carl Jung called the servant of god, Virgo is devoted to uniting mind/body/matter. Earth, nature, nuture are Virgos domains. Assessing what it attracts, analyzing what to assimilate physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, our Virgo part of consciousness rules our digestive processe, Mercurys energy rules our central nervous system. Stress and pressure interfere with all our digestive systems. Our goal oriented Virgo part of consciousness feels the responsibility of incarnation, tending to work overtime, needing to remember to rest and balance. Again She can draw upon the water of Pisces within Her womb, the amniotic fluid bathing the embryonic world server nurtured within. Co-ruled by expansive Jupiter and mystical Neptune, Pisces amorphous energy spreads out into multiple dimensions, reaching for cosmic enchantment. Service There are three levels of service on which all signs operate, their tasks varying according to the souls needs. Some need to serve the building of a strong personality, some are awakening to their quickening and others serve the Group Soul, Humanity, Hierarchy. The Moon veiling Vulcan rules Virgo on the soul levels. Virgos natural domain in the zodiac is the 6th house of service, health and mentoring. Her reputation for being work oriented arises from the Herculean myth. Hercules labours are an allegory for our souls growth and the turning of the wheel of the birthchart. The 6th task relates to Virgo who had to drive away man eating birds with vicious claws and beaks. The task was so daunting that Hercules had to ask for assistance. In one version of the myth his helper was the strong goddess of justice, Athena. Another says it was Hephaistos or Vulcan, the god of the forge. Hiis role was to break up crystallized forms in the fire of his forge, refashioning them into useful shields. One message of this allegory is that Hercules attracted the help that was needed as does our Virgo area of consciousness. We receive through the magnetic qualities of this sign the experiences and/or opportunities to assist us in gaining balance and eliminating all that doesnt serve our goals. As the Goddess of Harvest and Healing, Great Goddess of Innocence and Purity, Ceres/Earth/Mother, Virgo nurtures the growth of the soul force. Her quickening is an increase in the presence of soul within the mortal body. Some call the it the Annoited One, The Christ Within. Whatever the name it is the world server, love incarnate.
