Eduniversal November 2014 The Beedie School of Business was ranked number one in Canada in the category of Four Palmes: Top Business Schools With Significant International Influence, in the Eduniversal Ranking 2014. The survey was carried out by the deans of the top 1000 business schools around the world, with selection and ranking taking into account the national and international reputation of each business school. The survey also distinguishes between universal schools with strong global influence, excellent business schools with reinforcing international influence, good schools with strong regional influence, and schools with considerable local influence. Best-masters March 2014 The Management of Technology MBA at the Beedie School of Business was ranked in the top ten Master’s-level Engineering and Project Management focused programs in North America. The list ranks the programs, rather than schools, through an annual evaluation of more than 12,000 programs, 5,000 international recruiters and almost 800,000 students. It places the Management of Technology MBA in the top ten alongside programs offered by such distinguished universities as Stanford, MIT, and Duke. QS Global Business Schools Report December 2012 The Beedie School of Business was ranked as an “Emerging Global” business school in the 2012-13 QS Global Business Schools Report. The list, part of a larger ranking of the world’s top 200 business schools in the world, is the result of a survey that is informed by over 3,300 active MBA employers worldwide who were asked to identify the business schools from which they prefer to recruit. It describes “Emerging Global” schools as those “that have an established reputation for excellence well beyond their region”, and who “attract high-quality candidates from all over the world, and graduates can expect to earn highly competitive salaries”. FT40 Publications August 2012 The Beedie School of Business was ranked tops in Western Canada, and among an elite group of management schools across Canada, in a ranking of globally accredited Canadian business schools based on research productivity. The survey, published by the Gustavson School of Business at the University of Victoria, and first presented to the Canadian Federation of Business School Deans, focuses on schools accredited by EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) and/or AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). Social Science Research Network April 2012 The Beedie School of Business was ranked in the top five business schools in Canada, and the top 75 in the world for business and management research in a survey conducted by the Social Science Research Network (SSRN), a leading repository of business academic papers. The ranking of international business schools was based on article downloads by institution, and included more than 1000 business schools worldwide in the survey. SSRN was established in 1994 by Michael Jensen, a financial economist at Harvard Business School. UT Dallas Top 100 World Rankings of Business Schools August 2011 The top 100 World Rankings of Business Schools published by the University of Texas at Dallas ranked the Beedie School of Business in the top ten in Canada and top 100 worldwide for research conducted between 2009-2012 based on publication in 24 elite business journals. Individual departments in the Beedie School of Business also performed admirably in the rankings, with the Department of Management Information ranked in the top five in Canada, and in the top 50 worldwide; the Department of Strategy and Management ranked in the top five in Canada, and in the top 40 worldwide; and the Department of Operations Management was ranked in the top ten in Canada, and in the top 100 worldwide. Shanghai Jiao Tong Academic Ranking of top World Universities August 2011 Simon Fraser University and the Beedie School of Business were ranked in the top ten schools in Canada and top 75 worldwide in the category of economics/business in Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s 2011 Academic Ranking of the top 50 World Universities – a testament to the quality of the Beedie School of Business’ research output and SFU Economics. The rankings are heavily research-oriented, with weight given to criteria such as citations and publications in top academic journals. Association for Information Systems Research Ranking April 2011 A 2011 analysis of publications in top academic journals ranked the research output of the Management Information Systems area at the Beedie School of Business among the top 30 in the world. The IS Research Ranking is based on the Association for Information Systems’ “Senior Scholars’ Basket of Journals,” and includes data from 1990-2011. International Business Review: Top Business Schools October 2010 The Beedie School of Business was ranked in the top two business schools in Canada, and in the top 40 business schools worldwide in a report detailing the top world business schools measured by scholarly impact in international business. The Academic Ranking of World Business Schools by scholarly impact was published in the journal International Business Review, and ranked universities in terms of international business research output in elite business journals over the previous decade.
