Voice of heart: from editor’s pen What I saw, heard and thought AWFUL CONSEQUENCES OF GIRLS’ OBSCENE DRESSING A few days ago, I came across a case. Parents sobbed and wept heavily and repeatedly said that someone has carried out magic on their home and daughter. Along with them was a 16 year old girl who was a student of first year. The parents had a complain that she spends her days and night with cable TV, mobile phone and messaging. She has no realization about street food, care for purity and profanation. At all times she is in anger and remains grumpy. She is fed up of her life and the family. She does not care for herself or any family member. Work has been completed ornot, whether her mother is alive or dead, she is not bothered. The only concern and objective of life which she insists is that she wants to use only imported things which are produced abroad, every local thing is substandard and harmful for health and it is fake. I want to study abroad, this is a deplorable society and people here have no ethics and do not know how to spend their lives. She is always criticizing her parents, her home and the society and avoids meeting relatives. She likes to remain lonely and the companions of her loneliness are just cable TV, mobile, messaging and internet !!! This was the complaint of the parents and reason for their weeping. I was offering them tissue paper one after another to dry their eyes. The mother was continuously insisting that someone has done magic on her home and especially on the daughter, and that we are tired of this magic. The daughter does not pay any attention to what we say and the entire family is disturbed because of her. She receives disgusting messages and sends similar ones as well. She does not care to cover her head with scarf or veil herself. What to talk about scarf or veil, she does not even care about covering her body modestly. She herself once said that: ‘When I was in college, we went for a trip to hilly areas. Some foreigners were also there for excursion. One of the foreigner women, said to me in her typical accent that at least shorten the neckband of your shirt. It is necessary at this age that you keep your body covered or else someone might harm you.’ The daughter narrated this with laughter. Readers! I went to the Race Course Park with my children. At a nearby plot, a little girl of about 3 or 3½ years was dancing there and doing amusing things. Both of her parents applauded her act and were cherished for their daughter has progressed. First the parents leave their children out of control and in false perception of progressiveness, give them full liberty for everything. When they reach the peak, then for every bad habit or characteristic, they put the blame on magic. I have a faith in magic, does not deny it and accept its reality. But I also know that everything is not due to magic. There are some realities of life which are apart from magic. We have to accept them as well. If they are not accepted, then the mindset of blaming will persist forever and life will continue to be effected with difficulties and worries. Please! care about your generations like blossoming plants, grow and trim them. Let it not happen that generations keep growing like thorny bush and the acrimony in life is transferred from generation to generation.
