Volunteering I find is one of the best ways to do something worthwhile in your community. It helps others that are in need, which in turn helps you feel needed. It gives back to the community you are a part of, and giving back is one thing we are here on this planet to do. Volunteering should come easy for all of mankind. We all know we were given everything on this planet before we were created. Everything was set up for us all to give to each other, help one another, give back to the planet, and in return, it all comes back full circle. Even if we’re not taught to volunteer while we were growing up, we all know how to help each other, and that’s what volunteering is all about. That spirit of helping is inside everyone of us. We just need to bring it out. Then that spirit will shine bright as can be. I have been volunteering a short time at the Christian Cupboard and I have learned a lot, become friends with great people that I wouldn’t have ever known, learned so much about what is a very important part of society. I would have to say that if it wasn’t for volunteer help, we all would be losing out in life. One of the greatest privileges that we have is being able to help one another. Just imagine the world without this quality. The world would not exist without that giving spirit. I know it would not be a world I’d want to live in. Thank God that spirit was created in us long ago. It’s amazing when kids get involved. There was a mother and her three kids came in with over one hundred pounds of food they collected. The mother told me that the kids just went around to neighbors and friends asking for donations of beans, pasta, rice, soup, sugar, flour, or just anything they could afford to give for someone else. These kids were excited you could tell because they carried the food in to have it weighed and they had proud looks on their faces because they did this on their own. They had their own food drive and that made a giant difference in many peoples lives. If we all used that same volunteer spirit as those kids did, not one person on this planet would do without what’s most important in life. We would all have everything and more. It’s all about giving. The more we give, the more we have. You notice that this planet was created to only “give to us”. You also notice that when we take and take, the planet usually gives back in a bad way. This is the way it will be in every aspect of our life and the planets. Funny how we as humans were given everything on this planet to better our lives, and we as individuals want to take as much for ourselves, before “it” runs out. Can anyone out there imagine what it would be like to give everything, instead of taking? First you have to imagine what the “everything” is that’s most important to give. First thing that pops into our head is material possessions. That should be at the very bottom of the list. In fact, that shouldn’t even be on the list. What we were born with is the answer. We weren’t created with cell phones, lap top computers, houses, or fancy cars. We are to give away all that is good in us. All that is positive, loving, inspiring, peaceful, tranquil, everything that is good. I can see it’s turning around for the good. Can you see it spreading like wildfire. All you have to do is…… To Hear Listen. This is what I have to work on everyday. I will do my part and work on being this way more. I hope everyone out there does the same.
