WA sourced, unprocessed gravelly loam/clay for garden and landscaping. GARDEN: In the bare sandy yards of Perth, plants need clay additive to help retain water. Unlike soil wetting chemicals this clay is mixed in with the sand before/during potting and shouldnt need replacing. It will allow the soil to hold water for longer, but wont stop drainage altogether so it is suitable for all plants, using applicable ratios. Unlike processed Bentonite/Kaolite clay products available at many large warehouses, this raw and unrefined clay is straight from the Perth hills and still contains the natural balance of minerals and nutrients to get a good start. Give it a go and you could save $$$ not just on water but also on fertilizing/mineral additives. In a balanced yard the decaying waste from the plants and bugs will provide sufficient organic material to replensih the levels as the plant absorbs them, but over time and dependant of the type of plant, you may still need to occasionally add some peat/organic mulch. Usage is 1-40% depending on your requirements, but averages 5%. Some will dissolve and spread amongst the soil particles so start with a bit and increase as needed. Ave pH 6.5 - 7. It doesnt contain plant matter/weeds. LANDSCAPING: This clay is also ideal for a firm paving base and pathways and sculping yards and slopes. Talk to your landscaper/paver for usage advice specific to your needs. $10 for 20L. (1L = 1.5Kg) I have shovels if needed but please bring your own bag/box.
