WALKING ON LEAD: proper lead training is one of your first responsibilities as a puppy owner. Make sure you have a lead and a proper adjusted collar that won’t slip off if your puppy suddenly pulls backwards. We tend to train our pups to walk alongside us with a lead on, using food as a motivator. We mark the behaviour with the words Yes. Or good. Try not to EVER let your pup pull on the lead as this is one of the worst habits they can get into and it is very difficult to overcome. Dogs who learn to pull on their leads eventually stop getting taken for walks, then they go crazy being locked in your backyard. Don’t let this happen to your gorgeous puppy.
