WARNING: RAMBLING AHEAD. THE ROAD BEFORE YOU IS NOT MAINTAINED BY ANY MUNICIPALITY AND MAY PROVE TREACHEROUS. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK. There. Ive done all I can. :) What if you had this choice: You could spend the rest of your life so cold that you constantly shiver, with absolutely no relief at all. No warmth under blankets. No satisfaction snuggling with a lover. No comfort whatsoever ... OR you could spend it miserably warm. Always sweating, flushing... Constantly searching for relief. Air conditioners dont help, ice doesnt cool your skin. Cold baths and swimming pools are no good. Just curious really. Ive heard it said you can learn a lot about someone in the way they choose to suffer. Not that its a fun subject but its kinda interesting. I personally dont like to spend that much of my time considering it. Kind of a fatalism trap if you arent that type to begin with, or has the potential to be maybe. Still its much different than studying what makes people happy and the various rewards theyd choose. Unlike my really inept example up there, the selection of ways youd choose to suffer from would have to vary with the individual and be set up in such a way that each possible answer feels fairly equal to the next. The misery should be the same, but the vehicles used to carry that emotional and physical woe should vary wildly, so its the method that is the focus here. I know theres a use for that kind of study and surely its an important one. For me, I think theres too much chance of it molding your own outlook... The people who study the emotional impact of personal tragedy or unexpected, terrible loss... anything that causes pain and strife start to see this pain in everything they see. Like Raistin Majere and his yellow, hourglass eyes (any of you familiar with Dragonlance knows that kick ass mystic) they begin to see damage and decay in everything. The end. The final state of things. So you know... thats where Im at this evening. :D Outside shivering in this wonderful crisp cold air and getting stoned. About to head inside, thaw out and maybe watch a movie. I hope you guys have had a great Tuesday as one day rolls into the next and into the next like little dominoes. Clickety-clacking and flittering away like sparks popping and shooting off into the dark. Im gonna try to stay up late and get as many waking hours as I can until surgery Friday. Ill get plenty of sleep after that, I already know to expect. And later... some gaming. Waste a little time with American Mcgees Alice. Who knows? I may even beat it tonight. And if I do, I wonder to play next? Fable maybe? That ones been suggested as a favorite. Jesus, Im rambling. Alright, Im out for the moment. ;)
