==========WARNING: STRONG WORDING AHEAD!============== Do you feel like a MONKEY with a mouse pad, sometimes? I know this sounds harsh, but this is EXACTLY how I felt in my Virtual Assistant business for far too long... Recently I shared that I went from charging $12 per hour to selling $3K packages as a Virtual Assistant and later as a marketing consultant in less than a year. It happened so fast that nobody who knew me before could believe in this. And more importantly, I was able to do this while staying in my home in Poland, while my clients came to me from all over the world: United States, Canada, UK, Australia & France! But it wasnt so easy as it sounds... Plus I had all the reasons NOT to make it happen. I started my Virtual Assistant business being 8 months pregnant with my second child. And if that was not crazy enough, I was still recovering from the failure of my previous business venture. My first business collapsed and left me in severe depression. I lost money, life-long friendship, health and my marriage was on the line. I was a complete emotional & financial bankrupt. Yet deep inside I knew that being the entrepreneur is what I want to be. The freedom, the money, the self-expression – I couldnt find the job that would give me all of those at once.... So there I was again... Pregnant, with some clients, who were not my ideal clients by any means. And undercharging to even be able to pay my bills. I was crying out loud asking (paraphrasing Nacho Libre;): “GOD! Why would you give me this strong desire to run my own business, yet make me such a lousy entrepreneur???” When my baby girl was born I knew that this was it. I would either make it work somehow, or I will never go into business again. Wasting time and energy on working with clients that were driving me nuts (you know these people: cheap, demanding, never satisfied?:), who couldnt see the value of what I was offering, was NOT an OPTION anymore. I spent my LAST MONEY on coaching (plus it was borrowed). I seriously didnt know where, how and IF my next client will even show up. This turned out to be the best decision I made in my entire life... I made a plan and decided that if I am to do business it will be my way or not at all. I repackaged my services, rebranded and took my business to the global clientele. I have launched my business on Tuesday, by Thursday the same week I signed up 2 new clients at triple the rate I used to charge. I didnt have a mailing list, no testimonials, I didnt use ads, no referrals, zero, nada... This was my first breakthrough, that showed me what is really possible in my life and business! Since then I was continuously upleveling my business, raising my rates to finally introduce consulting services to my clients... And I tell YA this is where the FUN begun! - It was a true roller-coaster ride, full of exciting UPS and painful DOWNS.
