WAS MY WISH LIST FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS!!! The NCHA would drop all lawsuits and with a handshake forget and forgive! Well it didnt happen and here we go! Advocate cutters will decide the fate of our grassroots membership. I am very proud to say that until now I have been the only dedicated producer of grassroots events in the NCHA for 14 years. The Oklahoma Select Breeders Futurity with the help of so many great ranches that have been dedicated to grassroots has awarded in purse money over $400,000 thousand dollars. NO ENTRY FEE!!! Grassroots cutters that desired to show a limited age horse on a equal playing field was given the opportunity to experience showing a young horse without the intimidation or expense. To become hooked by the challenge of showing and having a young horse trained. I have opened up my home adamant to the same concept of giving back to a industry that I love. Every nickel that has been made has been put right back into producing grassroots cuttings that are affordable for all of those who wish to compete in the cutting industry. Bruce has been told over the years that its a wonder I have not broke us with my give back attitude. Well I havent!!! When you pull through our gates, you have been invited to our home and I feel a responsibility to welcome and service with gratitude for your participation. This morning I am having mixed feelings. I love the NCHA! I have devoted 23 years to every aspect of the NCHA but with that said I also loved and enjoyed every member that has been suspended. The lawsuits upset me greatly knowing that one day the membership would have had enough and decide to override the few that have been so adamant of proving a point. What point? A point that you were powerful enough within the organization to do it or that you started so by God your going to finish it regardless of the millions it has cost our association that could have been put back to good use like promoting grassroots cutting and every individual regardless of how powerful the opportunity to compete and participate. 15 years ago I wrote a letter to Jeff Hooper over the concept of the OSB and the small futurities of the NCHA. I was pleading for help against massive added money events being scheduled on top of our small futurities. Driving to Ft Worth sitting down at the round table the only response I got while on conference call was if you want priority dates add more money then you will be worthy of priority dates. In that letter to Jeff Hooper my last statement was, A house that is divided will fall. Well that house now has a line right down the middle. Avid, passionate cutters will find a way! I truly believe that small futurities will now take care of themselves. Again here we go with more, more is not always better just looks that way on paper. The increase of the NCHA futurity will secure our small futurities for a few more years. I believe they will be larger than ever before. Its not really about the money for the majority of cutters its about the game. I would have decreased the entry fee. I would have given any one and everyone that desired to come play at FT Worth the opportunity with open arms. Charged a ground fee and made up the difference. More people meant more financial support of FT Worth which meant maybe if we played right more money from the state of Texas. Could of, would of, should of!!! Our bed is made!!! One thing I know for sure by the facebook page response of the World Cutting Horse Association is that members of the NCHA are tired of the wrinkles and their tightening that sloppy made bed!!!!
