WATER TOWERS INDICATE ARRIVAL AT DESTINATIONS “Are we there? How many more miles to home?” These are two common questions from childhood that express the anxiety by kids being shut inside a car for a period of time. A common reply is, “Look for the water tower. Let’s see who can be the first to spy it.” Yes, water towers are often the first thing spied from afar and often are the sign post of a city. Sometimes names, slogans, school colors or town mottos are expressed. In this photo, Banana forum member Melissa Ludwig Haussecker shoots an enjoyable close up view of a Brenham water tower. She indicates that the shot was from the moon roof of her automobile. With a little imagination it seems like a space alien also might be arriving in Brenham. Thanks for the photo, Melissa!
