WATERMELON DEVOTION Good afternoon! In this fast paced age, it is really hard to "fit it all in." Many have asked how we manage to do devotions with all of our children every day. One thing that helps is remembering that devotion time does not always have to be a formal, sit down with pens and paper. The other day, we had our devotion while we eat some watermelon from the farm. We asked the children to describe the watermelon to us. Then, based on those answers, we asked them to think about what the watermelon tells us about God. Some answers we received were, "He likes sweet things!" and "He loves to give us yummy food," another was, "God likes bright colors." Amazingly, from one simple snack, we can see the glory of God in His creation and His goodness to His creatures. It can be tempting to overcomplicate things and thus, really stress ourselves out, but we can find some of the most profound truths in some of the simplest forms. "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." Psalm 19:1
