WBO/WBA super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (15-0, 10 KOs) had all he could handle from unheralded WBO #6, WBA #10 rated Hisashi Amagasa (28-5-2, 19 KOs), retaining his title by eleventh round TKO on Wednesday night at the Bodymaker Colosseum in Osaka, Japan. Rigondeaux was dropped twice by the aggressive Amagasa in round seven but later recovered to pummel Amagasa, flooring him in round ten and getting a stoppage victory when the courageous, but badly busted up, Amagasa remained on his stool after round eleven. After the bout, Rigondeaux’s promoter Caribe Promotions issued a challenge to WBC 122lb champion Leo Santa Cruz. Rounds 9-11 youtu.be/3ZC5MqmdNO0
