WE NEED TO LISTEN UP: Loud, brash and ever-so-slightly annoying he might be ... but HE’S DEAD RIGHT!! A transatlantic trade agreement between the EU and US will allow America to put FAKE FOOD ON OUR TABLES AND DELIBERATELY REMOVE OUR RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT WE’RE EATING. We dont have hormones in our meat, thats banned. But not over there. We dont have hundreds of poisons and pesticides that have been proven to be carcinogenic. They do. Their laws, their set-up, their safety regulations are nowhere near ours. The controversial agreement Is intended to make trading and investment between the EU and US more accessible, by reducing consumer protection legislation and quality control regulations - even when it comes to the provenance and integrity of our food. It would also give businesses and corporations the right to sue governments over legislation that affects profit margins. Guys...we should worry. The Transatlantic Trade Investment Partnership (TTIP) will undermine democratic procedures, consumer rights and civil liberties and is being negotiated secret, where MEPs and the public cannot scrutinise the content.
