WEATHER UPDATE: Issued at 5:00 a.m., 11 October 2014 Valid beginning: 5:00 a.m. today until 5:00 a.m. tomorrow Synopsis: At 4:00 AM today, the eye of Typhoon OMPONG {VONGFONG} was located based on all available data at 811 km Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes (24.0ºN, 128.9ºE) with maximum winds of 165 kph and gustiness of up to 200 kph. It is forecast to move North Northwest at 13 kph. Forecast: Visayas, MIMAROPA (Mindoro-Marinduque-Romblon-Palawan), Bicol Region and Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the north to northwest will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon and coming from the southwest over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
