WEB PAGE UPDATED>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 11/23/14 : Tonights cup race at the famed Sonoma road coarse was a test of endurance as drivers went 55 laps turning left and right. SmokeyMacPot took the pole even after sustaining slight damage in a previous lap. RiskTaker who would be a force to recon with all night took the outside pole. When the race began SmokeyMacPot would assume a small lead over the top 3 as the rest of the field began to spread out. There was a caution a third of the way into the race and drivers pitted and made adjustments and bunched the field back up. Drivers settled into a long green run and the top 3 of SmokeyMacPot, RiskTaker and the #24 car driven by Gamerpensfan seemed to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. LewwDa was off the pace for most of the race unsatisfied with the handling of that #1 Chevrolet. Creeker and InkAddict would race ChuckWagonGravy for the luckdog for the last third of the race. Rubbing fenders and scraping walls the 3 teammates all seemed to want it as bad as the other. Meanwhile up front as the laps where winding down the #4 car of RiskTaker got into turn 2 hard and overtook SmokeyMacPot for the lead sending him through the grass with all the looks of a door slam and run. RiskTaker would not look back and was able to pull a decent lead as the #14 cars momentum was completely stalled. RiskTaker was heard over the radio saying he thought the pass was clean and did not think the contact was uncalled for. The driver of the #14 car was not feeling quite the same way but kept his cool for the most part over the radio. When the checkered flag flew here in wine country it was all RiskTakers show as he wins his first race ever here in the SCMS Cup series. You could hear cheers and even tears over the #4 cars radio as he thanked everybody for believing in him. In victory lane RiskTaker dedicated this win to his late father who he was very close too and stated that this is a very sentimental time for him and his family. Clearly emotional this win seemed to be a very popular one in the garage as alot of drivers made there way to victory lane to congratulate him. Even SmokeyMacPot shared in the celebration after looking at the replay as he and RiskTaker are friends off the track. They just talked it out a little and Smokey told him to expect to be raced very hard next time and punched him in the shoulder in a friendly manner.
