WEEK 7 (1) ON YOUR MARK! GET SET! Oh wait a minute.....sunglasses.....I must bring those........oh and....I forgot to pack my slippers......oh no......whatd I do with that one map.....and what about that other map where we have to go first......and the GPS coordinates......what gate was it we were supposed to enter.....whew! There it is. Ok.....think Im ready now........ ME: Dan, did you remember to pack the binoculars? DAN: Yes hun....I answered that the last ten times you asked me. ME: And how bout the camera? Did you put that in the shoulder bag? DAN: Yes dear ME: Is my bible still in there? DAN: Your bible? ME: Yes.....my bible! You know I told Cody I wanna go to that church where theyre hoopin n hollerin....that one Cody went to the first time on accident and then absolutely loved it? That one. I need my bible so I can raise it in the air with the others and then read my own version of what theyre preachin to me. You know I cant go to church without my bible. DAN: Yes yes yes....its still in there. ME: What about the backpack? DAN: What about the backpack? ME: Did you put the sunscreen, hand wipes, lint roller, black umbrella, blankie, hankies, and Febreeze in the backpack with the folder? DAN: Black umbrella? ME: Yes BLACK umbrella. Remember....I told you thats the only color our Airman can use...and I dont want my poor lil son to get his pretty uniform wet if it rains. DAN: Hun...its not gonna rain! But whatever....Yes dear (grumbling under breath) ME: Is my folder still in there that contains all my AFWM family friends names and their pics....not the funny face pics we shared but the real nice ones, the Trainees names, the maps, the GPS address, Base Passes, Reservation information, Loop info, Restaurant addresses, and which gate is where? DAN: YES! ME: Ok....are you gettin crabby? DAN: Crabby? No......but if you ask me the same questions ten more times, I might be. Lol! Is this kinda what youre going thru right now? Now that I look back at it, the last minute packing, and WEEK 8 anticipation that leads to the final hours countdown, can be overwhelming to say the least. I highly recommend to take some deep breaths, clear your mind with just an hour of quiet time in a bathtub, and allow yourself the peace that you soooo deserve after the journey both you and your Trainee have overcome. GOD BLESS YOU ALL! WE ARE SO CLOSE! OUR AIR FORCE FAMILY ROCK!!! HUA!!!! -Wingmom Terry 💖✈️👏💖✈️👏
