WHAT A NIGHT! SOLANGE AND BEYONCE HOST PARTY FOR THEIR MOMS 60TH BIRTHDAY! What daughter doesnt want to go all out for her mothers birthday? Well, I got an amazing chance to star gaze this weekend, and celebrate a wonderful long-time friend. The gorgeous Tina Knowles, known as Miss Tina by Tina Knowles to family and friends celebrated her 60th at a star-studded affair in New Orleans, hosted by her beautiful daughters, @Solange and @Beyonce. So blessed to be invited and enjoy what was truly a once in a lifetime experience. The theme was black-tie masquerade, and more than a hundred guests -- including a lot of friends from Houston -- danced the night away, and sampled delicious Creole food and champagne at the venerable Muriels Jackson Square in the heart of the French Quarter. It was a loving, intimate evening that began with a lively Zydeco band and ended with an emotional video tribute done by Bey and Solange. Even 2-year-old granddaughter Blue Ivy had a speaking part, saying Happy Birthday, Grandmomma. It couldnt have happened to a more wonderful person. Miss Tina is exactly the same person she was growing up in Galveston and Houston....warm, kind, generous, funny and incredibly smart. Her best friend in junior high school, Vernell, still travels with her on all the tours. And many of the people who came to the party have known Tina for decades - long before her daughters grew up to be superstars. What struck me most is how much her daughters adore her. Beyonce, who is definitively one of the biggest stars in the world, insisted on taking second billing on her mothers big night. Its a perfect reflection of her mothers teachings. And the evening showed how even the most famous families are just like everyone else when it comes to showing love and support for one another. Lots of stars in the crowd, including son-in-law Jay Z, Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, singer Monica, Destinys Child alum Kelly Rowland, CBS and Oprah gal pal Gayle King, even Khardasian matriarch Kris Jenner. I especially loved seeing Tina with her new beau, handsome actor Richard Lawson, who just did a movie with her....Tinas first. She looked so beautiful and so happy. And no one deserves it more, believe me! Thought Id share a few pictures of the evening. But be kind -- most of these were popped off with my little camera phone! :) Enjoy!
