WHAT DID GOD MEAN WHEN HE SAID, ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE? Was the Lord giving us an open door policy to receive whatever we want? No. Was God giving us the opportunity to give Him our personal wish list? No. Notice that the Bible never said WHAT we will receive. This is an open-ended statement because it is NOT an invitation to get what you want but it is an INVITATION FOR A CONVERSATION. When God said ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and door shall be answered that is a DIVINE INVITATION TO HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH A HOLY GOD. In this scripture, Gods gift to us is His willingness to communicate with unclean vessels. CONVERSATION IS THE SEED FOR RECEIVING. You cant receive anything without a conversation. It is vital that you understand the substance of this scripture so that you will not be CONFUSED when you ask God for something and dont receive it.
