WHAT DO YOU REALLY WANT? When you say: I need to lose fat - TopicsExpress

WHAT DO YOU REALLY WANT? When you say: I need to lose fat before my vacations What people often mean is: I just realised that even though I exercise, I can’t lose weight. So let’s do a little starvation bootcamp to look good in a bathing suit. What I think about this: You actually think that the last year of you taking it easy and eating whatever you can think of will actually disappear? You should have thought about that maybe more than a month before. I know you heard that you can lose 10 pounds in a month but did you ever stop yourself and ask questions like what am I losing? You can lose 10 pounds in a month, but you better dig deep if this is your goal because everything you thought was good will suddenly turn bad. When you say I know I gain muscle fast What I heard: You don’t want to work hard What I really think: You are one special breed! You dont need help, you already know the secret! -When you say: All I want is to lose weight. What I heard: I want to lose no matter what I have to do, starve, stick cotton balls down my throat, I’ll do whatever you tell me. What I think: You can be helped, but my best suggestions dont really seem to be your ideal plan. You are ready to suffer to great extent to lose weight. I would love to see you become a better version of yourself, but, more importantly Id love to see you become healthier so you don’t gain the weight you lose back. What often happens in this case is that you will be told what you need to hear but this won’t necessarily be what you want to hear. This will make you uncertain about investing in any worthwhile knowledge and time. You will listen to anyone, to try and validate what we are doing, only to mix up the signals in your thinking box instead of focusing on the task at hand. Unless you are ready to figure out a method of making your goals a lifelong mission, not just a temporary fix, I am not the one who is willing to help out unless you listen and do it for you, not what society, your friends or the media wants you to be, often the seed of the true problem in my opinion. To me, it is funny how people are so hesitant in investing the first time they start a program but they are not scared of restarting every single year. If they did it right the first time, would be less expansive. Think about your goals- are they lifelong or do you want a quick fix to which you will return back to your normal ways sooner rather than later?
