WHAT I LEARNED AS A PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO A CELEBRITY I once - TopicsExpress

WHAT I LEARNED AS A PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO A CELEBRITY I once worked for a South African celebrity as a personal assistant. Apparently she was known as the Oprah of South Africa. That was a crazy job and she made some equally crazy demands. I regularly called up people like Russell Simmons and Star Jones for her. One day Mandela called to speak with her and I transferred the call over to her. Um, that was amazing. I got to see the delusion and the ego in the world of celebrity, which I see now influences me so much in the work I do with people who want to be leaders and impact the world--many people have hired me because they are blowing up and want to make sure they stay grounded, true to themselves and aligned so they can truly make positive impact with their businesses or their message. She had these funny sayings shed repeat to me. This morning I woke up with one of them in my head, which up until now, in my experience and through observing people, has turned out to be true for the most part. She said Never go back to an old job, an old house or an old boyfriend. :-)
