WHAT IS A BEST FRIEND? Well a best friend is one-of-a-kind, having better qualities and integrity than any other friend you know. He or she has all the qualities of agape love without ending in this life. Also, like agape love, a true friendship is a choice; friendships dont happen by accident. It seems that a true friendship should last a lifetime. I would say that Jesus typifies the uniqueness of a best friend. Its said about Jesus he is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. I dont have any knowledge of what that kind of relationship might be like. I have never had a good relationship with my brother in 67 years ( hes not born again). And wont EVER. Talk about The Lord. I consider a friend someone that no matter what you go through in life, they are there; in sickness, health, trials, tribulations of every kind; he or she is still for you and believes in who you are when no one else on earth does A true friend is also someone who is a constant in a persons life over the long hall till one or the other of you dies. I didnt start out being the kind of person that knew how to be a true friend to someone, I had no roll model until Jesus Christ. Now, how do you know who is your very best friend? In my opinion that is someone who has all the above qualities without reservation. At this period of my life, I seem to have a couple fair weather friends, and a handful of people who say they are my friends and at times seem to be ready to commit to a true friendship. It hasnt been until 2014 that I have seen all the qualities of a true friend in any one person except Jesus Christ Himself I am truly grateful to have a best friend this late in my life, I truly hope you have a friend who has ALL the friendship qualities, not just friends who have some and others who just have a few more friendship qualities than the others. In honor of my best friend on earth and Jesus Christ my Lord and eternal Savior, thank you for being my best friend! JD
