WHAT IS THE ESSENCE OF AN ORGANIZED STATE? It is only in our country that the guilt and pains of inefficiency and uncertainness of government is brought to bear on the citizenry. A federal government that cannot pay N20,000 minimum wage wants each of her citizenry – who has a car – to use his or her two month’s salary to change a number plate which the same agency of government forced on us in less than three decades ago. This is bizarre. It would appear that every activity of government and her agencies are designed to send more and more people into the corruption lane; or how else would you describe the circumstance where a government that refuses to pay a living wage turns around to use obnoxious policies to aggravate that same slavery.
