WHAT?!?! Not my city. This is just unacceptable! Let it be known, my city will be transformed this year! According to a Yahoo News article, Redding, CA is listed as the 3rd most miserable place in America to live. Redding area residents had exceptionally negative evaluations of their lives, with 6.8% describing themselves as suffering, the highest of any metro area. Limited job opportunities may be one factor. The unemployment rate in the area, which was nearly 14% at the end of 2011, had not fallen below 10% as of the end of last year. Residents were also among the least emotionally healthy. Just 87% of respondents said they were treated with respect in the last 24 hours, less than in every other area reviewed last year. Respondents also reported higher rates of depression than almost anywhere else in the country. One possible explanation for this may be Redding’s violent crime rate of more than 723 per 100,000 people in 2012, one of the highest in the nation. Friends in Redding, this has got to change. We need business men and woman to rise up and bring employment to our city. We need radical lovers of people to go out and love those who havent felt respected. Weve got to get out of our church, even out of our school and bring love to every doorstep. Redding California will be saved!! I declare right now that by the end of this year, the people of Redding will be some of the happiest and joy field people in the entire country! Theyll know their value as sons and daughters of the King, and theyll have encounter after encounter will a loving Father and his joyous kids! People of Redding, we have a wonderful opportunity to change peoples lives and transform a city. Missions trips and traveling is cool and its great to see what God is doing around the world. But I refuse to travel around and change the world while my hometown suffers. Lets do something about this! Lets be the hands and feet of a loving God! Im challenging you right now to make it a point to be love everywhere you go, if you dont transform your city then who will? Go. Love.
