WHAT´S WICCA Further than those trite “I think“, “I believe” or “In my opinion“, than “royal we”- those of bother or authorship that pretend to get an agreed idea from personal beliefs- and than “strikes” of- a supposed- traditionalist authority, the fact is that the first thing that everybody finds when they approach to Wicca, is that their speakers don’t explain them properly what it is, they explain it wrongly or they don’t know what they explain. And the most burdensome from this situation, basically apathetic and unsusual, is that we, the wiccans, are who “give” more confusion to its meaning. Assuming that Wicca isn’t what anyone wants it to be, what anyone is interested in it to be or what anyone wants to turn it in, we are “condemned” to stop at a same station earlier than later and to lay common foundations, common understanding, at least the chance to work starting from the facts and to give an academic and precise context of our religion, instead of setting our theories. We can’t go on discriminating, marginalizing, dennying other Tradition’s ralities- when they really are so- or just sentence that what doen’t come from us isn’t Wicca and that we don’t recognize it as Wicca. More than that, we agree to cut or to avoid its etimology eand history to justify and hide a much bigger spectre that can endanger what we think orthodox is. Because we’ll run the risk of having the rest of the traditions leaving or forming a group that won’t want to know anything from the others, getting to create a hostile emptiness and a lack of understanding decidely unfortunate and counterproductive to our religion. It’s not a matter of promoving a possible joining that, being sincere, our own idiasyncrasy would abort maybe before we even think about it. Nowadays it’s not necessary and it’s not appropriate. But it would be possible to lay the foundations of a future heterogenous common framework, where what joins us instead of what separates us is what sets the line we have to follow from now. I think if all of us may agree more or less with the same thing is that Wicca is the result of the Traditional Witchcraft’s evolution, adaptation or readjustment, whose origin is Indo-European, and that is a pagan stock. Starting from this we could have the necessary room to start working. Nowadays thanks to computing we have the chance to interact with each other between all of us and to be connected and informed about our steps, without miving from our home’s armchair. We, Wicca Celtibera ( Celtiberian Wicca), think that this advantage is a chance we can’t let go and that we are obliged somehow to try it. Having this aim in the next few days, Confesion Religiosa Wicca, Tradicion Celtibera (Wiccan Religious Confesion, Celtiberian Tradition), will suggest to the Pagan International Federation to call a first International Wiccan Conference in Spain, intending to achieve a working consensus where we may handle the most important subjects. Our aim is to find an understanding that may be drawn up in a written document that will be used as a reference. We strongly wish that brotherhood and understanding shine above all of us in a happy Wiccan brother’s and sister’s meeting. .
