WHAT WENT WRONG PART II: THE SILVER LINING This is in remembrance of the unsung heroes of our sinking ship of a wedding. You were a ministry to us. We will never forget you! 1. GRATIA SALVATI PRODUCTIONS Kuya Lemar: Kuya, you believed in us. You believed in our story, our song, and our love. You invested in us and went out of your way to make the magic happen. The video and photoshoot were something we could only afford to dream about, but you turned those dreams into reality. Thank you for letting God use you immensely to bless us and to give us one of the best remembrances of the start of our journey as husband and wife! We also thank Ate Cey for her loving support of you! Behind every successful man, is a woman-- who hardly gets any credit. But here, we salute Ate Cey for her innumerable contributions to your success and happiness. May God bless you, your family and Gratia Salvati Productions! You will ever be in our prayers and fondest thoughts! 2. Ate Louvi: There are many things about my wedding I would change if I could turn back time. But one of the things I would NOT change is my beautiful make-up artist! Thank you, Ate, for the awesome job you did transforming me into a bride! I got lots of compliments that night and thats all thanks to YOU! But even more than a make-up artist, you were a shoulder to cry on when I had that emotional break down. When you told me to be strong, I became stronger. I will never forget you for that! 3. The Manupali String Machine: You guys did an amazing job! We can never thank you enough for stepping in to fill the shoes vacated by those who were in the original program. Tracy (Khin) and Mik (Mikhael), thank you so much for your help in organizing the band to play at the wedding. Kuya Kenji and Ate Leilani, thank you so much for helping the kids. They couldn’t have done it without you. Even though my wedding felt like a sinking ship, you guys were like the band in Titanic that never stopped playing. As long as there was music playing, I felt like everything was going to turn out okay. No words can describe just how much your sacrifice means to us. God bless MSM! 4. Kuya Gimer of GimLois Photography: Kuya, we appreciate your willingness to travel all that way to cover our wedding. You are a true professional and a gifted photographer. We know it was a challenge for you to work with us because you arrived before the impromptu coordinators did. The gown came late, and everything went wrong. But you kept yourself busy in the meantime. Your pictures make it look like it was the perfect wedding! We are so grateful to you! 5. Jonathan & Kezia: You said you didn’t know how to emcee. Big fat lie! You guys were naturals! Thank you so much for stepping in to save the day! You guys made emceeing look so easy! J, thank you for keeping your promise to sing “You’re Still The One” at my wedding! I bet that would’ve sounded even better if Madel sang it with you. Thank you for staying behind after the wedding to hang out. We were pretty bummed about everything but you stayed to make sure we felt better about it by the time you left. KZ, thank you for cleaning up the room for us! This little ray of sunshine cleaned the room we were supposed to spend our first night as husband and wife in. The room had been used to get the Bride and bridesmaids ready. It was a mess. Clothes, make-up, hair accessories and what-not were everywhere! KZ cleaned it up for us while we were having our pictorials. These are one of the things I will always remember with a smile! I love you, Roomie! 6. Our Ever-Supportive Friends: Rayleen: Thank you for helping out with the hair! I know you were sick but you made it a point to be there for our wedding. When the my sister read your FB post to me the night before the wedding, it gave me the strength to pray for more. You brightened up the room with your laughter and dayum, Girl! You can do hair! Lilo, I can’t thank you enough for the support you showed me even during the earlier preparations for the wedding. You were quick to offer your time to help even though you were busy with research. You endured the heat of Valencia during our prenup shoot without complaint and you were the bridesmaid who helped dress me up in my gown. Your enthusiasm for our wedding was a stress reliever! I’d love to hear you “Wedding Song Playlist” sometime. ;) Didi, Madz and Patty, thank you for your help and support. Bisag wala na gamit ang inyo gi pa’ng prepare, we really appreciate your effort. Lyza, Claire and Princi (Ralejomakyle), thank you so much for the support and friendship! I’ve singled you out from the rest because you were the ladies whose pretty smiles stood out in a special way. I could see how genuinely happy you were for us in spite of how everything was falling apart! The way you guys were smiling from ear to ear, it was as if nothing had gone wrong. You guys made me realize that there was so much to smile about and that all that really mattered was our marriage, not the wedding. You guys were God’s little yellow post it reminders to me. Steffi, my bouquet toss champion and little errand girl, thank you for your help and for your spirit! Your energy was a rebuke to my pessimism. You inspired me to start acting like I was getting married, not embalmed! I love you, Kiddo! Mani (Em Gee), She-She, Princi, and my other coordinators, thank you guys for your help! Nobody blames you for anything that went wrong. You guys were awesome! We’re sorry you had to go through a lot of stress that night. But you guys kept the boat afloat. We will always be thankful for you! Joey and Madz, it has come to my attention that you guys literally went picking flowers just so my flower girls could have petals in their baskets! I don’t know how it’s possible that they did not provide the flowers because we paid for it! We really appreciate your help! From now on, we will always remember you guys as our Flower Boys. LOL! 7. Those who prepared for parts but never got to sing: Sir & Ma’am Ronnel Fernando, Chariz, Amor (Nielka), and others, we’re really sorry. We know it took time and energy to practice especially because the parts were given last minute but due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to cut the program short, but we are so thankful for your willingness to help! 8. My Bible Bearer, Little Bride & Little Groom, and Flower Girls: You guys were cuteness overload! Kuya Kenji, thank you for lending us your boys for a night. They were true gentlemen. Nica, my Little Bride, I miss you so much! And my little Flower Girls, as messed up as that was, I actually wouldn’t change it. It was too cute! LOL! 9. Our Principal Sponsors: Thank you so much for your support and for bearing with us. Thank you for the wisdom some of you have imparted and the prayers you have offered on our behalf. 10. To Everybody Else: Thank you for coming to show your support (and maybe sympathy. LOL!) Whatever the case may be, we are grateful for the honor of your company. 11. Our Families: For loving us, supporting us, and encouraging us, we thank you! We simply could not have done it without you! We love you! 12. God, Our Ultimate Principal Sponsor, Parent, & Matchmaker: We praise You, Lord, for bringing us together, keeping us together through the many trials, and sealing our relationship in an everlasting covenant with You. We thank You for providing for our wedding, and for providing each other’s soulmates. We give thanks for all the people who made our night a beautiful night in spite of the colossal problems! So it rained on our parade. But better to be caught in the downpour in good company than alone. We thank God we were in good company that night fateful night. Thank you and God bless you all!
