WHAT YOU MISSED AT THE MCTEA MEETING YESTERDAY… -It was nice to FINALLY have our meeting this year. I appreciate everyone’s patience. There were 35 people in attendance. The meeting began with a prayer and the pledge as usual. -I noted that there had been a statewide tea party meeting near the end of 2013 regarding the consideration of endorsing candidates as a collective in WV. Another statewide TP meeting was convened in December to vote on whether this should be done. I was not able to attend either meeting. However, I did send a letter regarding this matter for someone to read at the statewide tea party voting meeting. I read this letter at the MCTEA mtg last evening – I will send that letter in a subsequent email. -Since we had a few candidates present, and we had the speaker regarding water purification, I briefly went over the FEMA & Flood Insurance info I received when I sat down with a local insurance agent. I gave out copies of my notes & said if anyone had more specific questions, they should to contact their local insurance agent. I will forward those notes in another email along with the Mason Co. FEMA representative contact info. -Mr. McGill gave a presentation on “How to purify water” from a more elaborate ways to more simple techniques. I am sure may people have thought about this issue, especially in light of the recent water crises that happened in 9 WV counties. The question is “Are you prepared?” If you would like copies of his handout, let me know and I will get them to you. -Two school board candidates attended this meeting - Mr. Whalen & Mr. Fowler. Both spoke about why they are running for the school board; Mr. Whalen expressed a desire to pursue this particular position at this time and Mr. Fowler expressed the desire to complete what he has started as a current school board member. -Due to the fact the Legislature is still in session, and they had to convene at 6pm yesterday evening, Delegate Scott Cadle and Jim Butler were unable to attend this month’s meeting. They, along with Brian Savilla, who was visiting at the Capitol, wanted me to let you all know that they miss everyone and hope to see you at next month’s meeting. -There was a candidate for the House of Delegate-13th District. This is a 2 member district. Mr. Mike Ihle, (pronounced Eelee) a Republican, is running for one of those two member slots. He currently is the Mayor of Ravenswood. To read more about Mr. Ihle, please visit: https://facebook/JMIhle and ihleforhouse -I will be sending a second letter out to the school board candidates that did not attend this meeting to invite them to the April meeting. If you see them, considering personally inviting them, as well : ) -Next meeting is Thursday, April 10th, 6:30 pm at the Henderson Community Center. See you then!
