WHAT is the NPIAP for? Hereunder is my own version given that my name has been mentioned more than once: (1st) Lets all agree on these GIVENS - (1a) We all have ONE common interest - that is the business of the Native Pig; (1b) This business of the Native Pig has varying shades & colors. Some are Farmer/Raisers only. Some are Traders only. Some are vendors of Goods & Services catering to NativePig Farming &/or Trading. Some are a combination of any 2 or more. (2nd) Recognizing all of the above, Government (BAI, et al) supports ANY & ALL legitimate stakeholders related to the Business &/or Advocacy of the Native Pig - along with its ongoing program: The Native Animal Development Program; (3rd) I take notice of Ferds Medina as the prime advocate in the propagation of the NativePig - given the short Supply in the growing Demand for his IKBEST Lechon. To meet his own DEMAND for Native Pigs, he developed his own EcoPig brand of commercially-farmed Native Pigs - under EcoPigs Contract Growing Protocol. I cannot comment further; (4th) Given BAIs urgent need for a Legitimate Conduit thru which BAIs pronounced Support could be channeled, a mixed group of Native Pig Stakeholders gathered at the BAIs Directors Office - purposely to ORGANIZE ourselves. In that meeting, I asked those present to decide WHAT they would want - If our Organization would want to engage into Business-for-Profit, then Partnership, Corporation, Cooperative are the options. On the other hand, Ferds Medina made known his view that our Organization could get SEC-registered as a non-stock, non-profit ASSOCIATION - for expediency sake. In the voting (Coop vs Assn) that followed, the great majority opted to organize as an Association. Inasmuch as I value an Organization only if it would make money more than I would as alone, I opted NOT to join the envisioned ASSOCIATION now styled as Native Pig Industry Assn; (4th) For reason of transparency, I posted my DRAFT Articles of Cooperation & By-Laws of my envisioned Native Pig Farmers Coop [aka: Kooperatiba ng Industriya ng katutubong Baboy ng Pilipinas KIKBP] - sometime October 2014. Many expressed interest - but only 1(Tacks & Boots Atanacios) came to my HomeOffice (16, lower Bronze st., SSS Village, Marikina City) to discuss seriously my envisioned Coop. My invitation for others to come remains open - but would close when the 1st 15 Founding Members are complete. For now, I await.
