WHAT’S ON MY MIND? 10/1/14 AM I READY!?! Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the thoughts (plans) I have for you says the Lord. They are thoughts (plans) for peace (good) and not for evil to give you a future and a hope! When you are faced with what appears to be a hopeless situation it’s easy to forget that God has a GOOD plan for you, and desires to give you a future and hope. The Bible tells us that Hope deferred can make the heart sick! When something is deferred it’s (an action or event) that is put off, or delayed. If our hope is in the event and not in the Lord our hearts grow sick. Sometimes there are divine delays that are orchestrated by God for a reason. The things that we think ought to come to pass when we want them to happen are not always God’s desire. I think of the Israelites and the Red Sea if they had gotten their plan to leave Egypt before Pharaoh ensued they would have never seen their enemy annihilated. God’s timing is everything!! In fact in Ecclesiastes it says there is a time and a purpose for everything under heaven. Sometimes the things we think we are ready for God knows differently. Ask yourself how do I respond when the enemy tries to stop God’s promise from coming into fruition? Do you complain, get mad at God, or at yourself? Are you able to be consistent in your walk with God? Do you get out of the spirit and into the flesh more often than naught? Sometimes our impatience becomes a motivator to thwart God’s plan and we want to make something happen that isn’t God’s will or time. Don’t introspect about this but if you find that there are areas in your walk with God that need improvement, ask God for HIS help. If God has given you a big plan, don’t give up on Him, HE won’t give up on you!! However, the worst possible thing is to receive that dream before the right time and you aren’t ready for it. How many times have we seen young actors and singers get promoted in the public and seemingly have success only to find out they fail miserably because they didn’t have the character or wisdom to keep them in their dream. Can you trust God and HIS timing to fulfill whatever HE has given you to do? Even when HE promotes you it will be bigger than what you can do in your own strength anyway, we have to LEARN to depend on HIM!! What a journey! Food for thought!
