Connor’s latest novel, “He’s Mine,” is a real page-turner. The characters are believable and interact with each other realistically. So much so, that after a few chapters this reader felt like he was reading about people he actually knew. Miles Alexander is a player. Tall, good looking and wealthy, he usually gets any woman he goes after. All that changes when a chance encounter with the vivacious Patrice Mays leaves him speechless. As their relationship grows and things become serious between them, Patrice begins to receive threatening messages at her office, on her bed, and on her car. When she tells Miles about the threats, it brings back memories of his former fiancée who was killed in a car accident years before. Miles always suspected that it was no accident, and his fears are confirmed when he discovers someone has tampered with Patrice’s car. As the story unfolds, the author masterfully directs the reader’s suspicion from one character to another. As in any good mystery novel, it’s not until the last few chapters that the mysterious stalker/killer is revealed.
