WHERE THEY ARE NOW-Alexis Danet I started attending Brookfield Academy in 2001 and graduated in June 2003. I enlisted in the Navy on December 16, 2003 and attended Recruit Training Command Great Lake, Illinois. I graduated February 24, 2004 and went on to attend Aviation Apprenticeship Training in Pensacola, Florida. Upon completion of school I went on to my first duty station Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron 15 “RED LIONS”. I deployed on the USS John F Kennedy (CV-67) from August 2004- December 2004 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Shortly after I began training and deployed to Kuwait in November 2005 and served for the 2515th Navy Air Ambulance Detachment in support of in an effort to help the Army provide pre-emergency hospital care to service members involved in Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and returned stateside June 2006. In March 2008 I deployed to Iraq to support Combined Joint Special Operations Air Component Commander. In 2009 I transferred to shore duty and went to Naval Station Mayport, FL where I served with Helicopter Antisubmarine Light 48 “Vipers”. On June 22, 2012 I transferred to Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadon 11 “DRAGONSLAYERS” where I immediately met them on the USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-69) and returned from deployment November 2012. Some of the awards I have received are Navy and Marine Corps Achievement I was recently meritoriously advanced to a First Class Petty Officer (E-6). The Navy has done a lot for me and has given me opportunities to excel. I am currently working on a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. I owe a lot to the support of the caring staff at Brookfield Academy for guiding me in the right direction, I am very thankful for them.
