WHO ARE THE TEN VIRGINS? Part 5 Parable of the Ten Virgins Matthew 25:1-13, New American Bible translation 1“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones, when taking their lamps, brought no oil with them, 4 But the wise brought flasks of oil with their lamps. 5 Since the bridegroom was long delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. 6 At midnight, there was a cry, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ 7 Then all those virgins got up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise ones replied, ‘No, for there may not be enough for us and you. Go instead to the merchants and buy some for yourselves.’ 10 While they went off to buy it, the bridegroom came and those who were ready went into the wedding feast with him. Then the door was locked. 11 Afterwards the other virgins came and said, ‘Lord, Lord, open the door for us!’ 12 But he said in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, I do not know you.’ 13 Therefore, stay awake, for you know neither the day nor the hour. 13 KJV says, Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. Dear friend, this is the fifth teaching under this series, Who Are The Ten Virgins? In the previous teachings, by the grace of God and to the glory of God, we have established the fact that the church of Christ on earth that is, the believers in Christ are the ten virgins, both wise and foolish! And we have been able to see why the wise virgins were wise, and what made the foolish to be foolish. We have established the meaning of the lamp and the oil in the lamp and extra oil! However, in case you are just reading this for the first time, go to my profile to read the remaining parts 1-4. Therefore, let us go for the part five under this series, Who are The Ten Virgins? We are going to look at verse 5. Jesus said in 5 that; Since the bridegroom was long delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. Jesus said while the bridegroom was long delayed, king James version reads why the bridegroom tarried. They all slumber and slept. Because Jesus delayed, the church of Jesus on the earth has lost her identity, the church of God is sleeping spiritually in sins, and unrighteousness. Because Jesus delay, the church of Jesus has entered the world, and the world has entered the church! What has happened, and what is happening to the church today had happened to the church in the old testament. Israel was the natural church of God in the wilderness, and a shadow of what should happen in the new testament. The church of God in this new testament is the spiritual Israel! Moses was the pastor of the church in the old testament, God invited him one day to come and collect the ten commandments and other laws, and was with God for forty day without taken any food nor drank any water. But because Moses tarried, the children of Israel left God, and choose golden calf to be their god! Exodus 32:1-4 (KJV) 1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. 2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. 3 And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. 4 And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. And this was the genesis of the Israel unbelieve, disobedient and downfall, the children of Israel missed it! And at the end of the day, only two people, Joshua and Caleb, and the children of those who perished in the wilderness was able to get to their promise land, out of over three millions that left Egypt! The church of the new testament is also following the steps of the church in the old testament. Why? Because Jesus delayed to come for rapture the rapture of the saints, she has turned after the god of gold, silver, immorality, unrighteousness, sinfulness. Etc. Moses delayed, but eventually came, Jesus delayed is coming for rapture and He will surely come. Jesus said in John. 14:1-3 that; 1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Fathers house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. Let God be true and all men be liar, Jesus is coming again the second time, to come and take the prepared believers from all the congregation all over the world out of this sinful world. The angels of God also testified to the disciples, as touching Jesus second coming to this world, when Jesus ascended to heaven in Acts Chapter 1:9-11. that; 9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. 10 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” Therefore friend, wake up from sleep of sins and unrighteousness, and clean up, to live your life for Jesus in holiness and righteousness if you are already born again. In case you are not yet born again, Jesus will come very soon, willingly receive Jesus into your life today, so that you can escape the horror of hell! Because no Jesus, no eternity in heaven. Jesus said in John 3:16.(NIV) 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. In other words, those who willingly reject Jesus shall perish in hell. Jesus delayed because of as many who have not accepted Jesus into their lives. ◄2 Peter 3:9 ►NIV says; The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But all the prophecies of the signs of His coming for the second time has been fulfilled! Jesus can appear any moment from now! Friend, receive grace to correctly follow Jesus today in Jesus name.
